Kugels and Komedians August Jewish Comedy Show
August 15 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Danielle Brody (Jews in Doodles) and Robin Weiss present Kugels & Komedians, a monthly series! Join us to schmooze with the community, and watch a hilarious show by some of the best Jewish comedians in NYC. Come alone or with your friends — you’ll have a great time. There is no drink minimum, but we encourage you to support Solas!
Danielle and Robin are also entrepreneurs! You can pre-order a mini homemade kugels by Robin aka Kool F***ing Kugels or Mitzvah or Shandah, a conversational card game by Danielle Brody and pick it up at the show.
The amazing lineup will feature:*
Olga Namer: Olga Namer performs regularly in clubs around New York including Gotham, Stand Up NY, Governor’s Comedy Club, The Stand and The Comic Strip. Namer is the 2018 winner of the Ladies of Laughter competition and has toured with Chelsea Handler.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in an orthodox Jewish home, Namer was married by 17 and divorced by 20 (it’s a long story – come see my set!). Inspired by Sarah Silverman and Larry David, Namer brings her unique point of view of life to her comedy that has been described as “funny, honest, authentic, and sarcastic.”
Sam Bloomstone: Sam Bloomstone is a Manhattan-based standup comedian, screenwriter, and actor. He’s a fixture on the NYC comedy circuit, performing all over the city at hotspot venues such as Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, The Stand, and The Comic Strip, among others.
Offstage, Bloomstone is a multi-faceted screenwriter who has penned an action-comedy feature, and continues to write pilots targeted for streaming services.
Rachel McCartney: Rachel McCartney is a New York-based standup comedian and writer with a dark, personal, punchline-heavy style of humor. She has written TV-friendly jokes for Jonathan Corbblah on GSN’s Master Minds, and TV-unfriendly jokes for Twitter (where she has amassed over 80K followers). She is a regular at New York Comedy Club and has opened for Gary Gulman several times on the road.
Cohosts
Danielle Brody: Danielle is a cartoonist and wandering comedian who produces mostly Jewish shows and events at synagogues and clubs who will take her. She has performed at Stand Up NY, Caveat, West Side Comedy Club, Union Hall, QED, and your local temple.
She was named a “36 to Watch” by NY Jewish Week for making Jewish products like a Haggadah, Hanukkah book, calendar, game, and more! She also draws cartoons about her life and dating on Danielle in Doodles. Her real-life job is a content producer at a major online news publisher.
Robin Weiss: Robin is a Jewish community organizer and event planner. She has performed for local Jewish community crowds and at Broadway Comedy Club. When she isn’t working her 9-5, she is building up her kugel brand.
