Jewish Comedy Night – Mitzvah or Shandah

June 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

They say 2 Jews, 3 opinions. Hosts Danielle Brody (Jews in Doodles) and Sean Leviashvilli (Menschions) will read hilarious prompts. The panel of funny people Willie Zabar (comedian and podcast host), Periel Aschenbrand (comic, writer, and producer), Sam Bloomstone (comedian), and Rebecca Perlmutter (singer and Menschions co-founder) — and the audience, have to decide: Mitzvah or Shandah.

Prompts may include:

You only come to synagogue because you have a crush on the rabbi — is that a mitzvah or a shandah?

Your mom emails you daily about every Jewish singles event and offers to buy you tickets — is that a mitzvah or a shandah?

You don’t know what shandah means — is that a mitzvah or a shandah? (Don’t worry, you’ll know by the end of the show!)

It’s unlike any game you’ve ever played before and the night will be filled with laughter, entertainment, snacks, and drinks (included in your ticket, what a mitzvah!) and good company. At the end, we’ll decide who’s the biggest mensch — and menace.

Share your own situations at the show (or email us ideas ahead of time at hi @ danielleindoodles.com) and opinions for candy and prizes.

Note on COVID: As the majority of our community are now vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, we will no longer be checking vaccination status upon entry. We highly encourage and strongly recommend that everyone stay up to date with their covid vaccinations and wear masks in the building.
