Event Description

We invite you underground for a journey into the heart and history of our subway system. Our private guide will take us through the twists and turns of this 121-year old labyrinthian phenomenon, with hidden treasures along the way. Among the highlights: • See the abandoned “ghost station” at City Hall • An overview of New York public transportation back in the 1800s, and why The Great Blizzard of 1888 was the catalyst for a subway system • The history and inside story of the creation of the original 1904 subway line, and how it grew into the most extensive transportation system in the world • A closer look at the art, architecture, and secrets hiding in plain sight of stations including Brooklyn Bridge – City Hall, Astor Place, and Times Square The tour is 2.5 hours. It begins at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and ends at Times Square
