SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA DINNER @ LINCOLN SQUARE SYNAGOGUE
March 1 @ 6:45 pm - 10:30 pm$55.00
This acclaimed introduction to the Friday night Shabbat experience has provided tens of thousands with their first taste of Shabbat. It includes a full Shabbat meal together with song and dance and good discussion.
On Friday evening, March 1, 2024, Lincoln Square Synagogue will participate in the 28th annual Shabbat Across America and Canada program. This historic Shabbat Across America and Canada campaign, coordinated worldwide by NJOP, was an outgrowth of ‘Turn Friday Night Into Shabbat’ that began in 1980 at LSS, and first brought former LSS President, Lloyd Epstein (z”l) and Judy Weil, into LSS. This dramatic and exciting program has become one of the most acclaimed Jewish programs, successfully engaging unaffiliated Jews around the world.
This year, we are delighted to feature Uri Pash, Israeli educator, recently returned from 108 days as a combat soldier on the border with Lebanon, and Pe’era Wasserzug Pash, Ph.D, acclaimed Israeli Fertility Scientist, Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, who will be presenting on the topic, “On the Frontlines of Fertility and Lebanon.” Please CLICK HERE to read their full biographies.
Shabbat Across America and Canada introduces Jews, many for the first time, to the customs and traditions of Shabbat at an interactive, Friday night explanatory service followed by a festive Shabbat dinner. This extraordinarily successful program that has been hosted in hundreds of communities across the USA and Canada, will be attended by tens-of-thousands of North American Jews. Our synagogue has always been a part of this international engagement effort, and we’re hoping it will be a major success again this year in our own community.
