WJOA Tisha B’av Reflection and Craft

July 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Join WJOA to mark Tisha B’av this year through reflection and art!

First, we will talk about the many upending events in Jewish history, then we will explore how one can turn loss into inspiration. This is one of the lessons of Tisha B’av—discovering how to bloom in the midst of loss.

We will then consider our own surroundings. What loss have you experienced?

I (Jennifer) was thinking about how to connect everything. We often use boxes to hold special memories.

For our Tisha B’av project we will create a box from the memory we want to hold.

I (Jennifer) will lead an art activity of creating folded boxes. We will begin by writing down a memory of someone or something that you lost, and then use that sheet of paper to literally create the box. Our boxes will fold so they may be kept close.

What can you put inside the box?

What do you want to keep in your box that’s connected to a person or memory?

All materials will be provided. Please RSVP to me (Jennifer) to attend.
