Event Description

We invite you to join us for the final installment of our Highlighting Healers and Hope Israel series and our first-ever documentary film screening at JCP. Torn is a gripping and timely film that weaves together interviews with hostage family members and the artists behind the KIDNAPPED poster campaign, which emerged in the days following 10/7.

The film confronts the tensions sparked by the campaign and asks urgent questions of how a war unfolding thousands of miles away can fracture communities here at home challenging relationships, identities, and the social fabric of a city so far from the conflict.

Following the screening, director Nim Shapira will be in conversation with Rabbi Deena Silverstone about the making of the film. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage directly with Nim during a Q&A. This promises to be a powerful, thought-provoking, and deeply moving way to conclude the series. We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful evening.
